Conference Projects

Conference Projects

North Edinburgh has a long and distinguished history of arts and activism and the local communities have a rich experience to offer any dialogues concerning the applied arts. We had news recently of some funding to make sure that local people can create their own special project about the conference and also make sure they are here to welcome you. They will be working on documenting the event in various media. So please be prepared to be interviewed, filmed, photographed. We shall introduce you to the project participants and Bobby Grierson who is supporting the project.

Additionally each day a mini Journal will be created by Jules Cadie, so please feed him your thoughts and reflections. There are several ways to do this. You could leave comments on this blog, send a Tweet to @knowingways, or e-mail knowingways@gmail.com. You could also leave notes/ drawings/poems or other objects in a box at the conference reception.

Jules will be working with Bobby to make sure all the conference media are up and running – more on this very soon.

Greg Giesekam will be documenting the conference for the Journal of Arts & Communities.

Bobby Grierson - A graduate in Art & Design from Edinburgh College of Art, Bobby has worked in graphic design and media for 30 years, during which time he has mixed running his own design and communications company, D4DIGITAL, with leading community based learning in design and delivering design services to community projects.

Jules Cadie - is a freelance artist-facilitator and cultural planner based
on Alston Moor in the North Pennines. His work explores the
relationship between development, creativity and the natural
environment. It is concerned with celebrating the margins and interface
where nature and culture collide.
